MID-ATLANTIC HOME & GARDEN SHOW MARCH 2 & 3

Join HGTV’s Curb Appeal: The Block and Designed to Sell host John Gidding on Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3, at the Mid-Atlantic Home & Garden Show at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Gidding appears at noon and 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and at noon and 4 p.m. on Sunday to provide tips and answer questions from the audience.

Gidding is a designer and TV host who shares his expertise with a diverse roster of international private clients as well as legions of viewers of the popular HGTV series Designed to Sell and Curb Appeal: The Block. 

Born in Istanbul to a Greek mother and American father, he developed an early enthusiasm and aptitude for art and math. He attended American schools in Turkey and Switzerland before attending Yale University for a bachelor of arts degree in architecture. He later attended Harvard’s Graduate School of Design for a master’s degree in architecture.

Gidding continued his love affair with design and globetrotting with architecture projects around the world and he worked for a number of prestigious architecture firms and honing his sense of landscape and urban design.

His portfolio includes work on the Brooklyn Bridge Park, Union Square in New York, the campus plan for Carnegie Mellon University and a pavilion for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.  In addition, he also has a portfolio of an entirely different design – fashion and TV work.

While in college and graduate school, Gidding worked as a fashion model for Gucci, Armani and Hugo Boss, among others, and he was the public face for Jhane Barnes eyewear. His exotic looks landed him on Broadway billboards, as well as on the covers of popular romance novels.

Outside of his design and TV work, he is the keynote speaker for a number of home and garden shows, and contributes his presence on the podium to many charitable causes.
